In June 2026, Kazakhstan published two separate official lists: bookmakers holding valid licences and operators that had completed integration with the country's Unified Betting Accounting System.

They answer different questions. A licence concerns the right to operate; integration concerns the recording of bets, transactions and player information.

That distinction matters when comparing betting sites in Kazakhstan. A familiar name, a Russian-language app or a deposit option in tenge does not establish that a sportsbook is locally authorised.

Two checks worth making before a deposit

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Tourism and Sports licenses bookmakers under the Gambling Business Law. Betting licences are issued for ten years, and the ministry publishes a register of valid permissions.

The Unified Betting Accounting System records information about participants, stakes, odds, winnings and payouts. In June 2026, the ministry published a separate list of bookmakers that had completed integration.

Checking both records is more useful than trusting a licence badge displayed on an international website.

Kazakhstan also maintains a list of websites suspected of operating as unlicensed foreign bookmakers or internet casinos. An offshore licence does not replace Kazakhstani authorisation.

The age limit is not the only restriction

The minimum betting age is 21, not 18.

People listed in the national register of debtors for outstanding enforceable financial obligations may also be prohibited from betting. Separate restrictions apply to certain public officials and service personnel.

Licensed operators must identify customers before accepting bets. KYC (Know Your Customer) checks can therefore involve identity documents and confirmation of payment details.

Kazakhstan also offers voluntary self-exclusion through the eGov Mobile app. Eligible citizens can choose a period from six months to ten years. Once submitted, the exclusion cannot simply be withdrawn.

Tenge payments and the withdrawal question

The local currency is the Kazakhstani tenge (KZT).

Domestic banking services and QR payments are familiar options, but the presence of a local-looking cashier proves little about licensing.

Before depositing, check three details:

• Whether the deposit and withdrawal methods match.
• Whether payments are processed in KZT or converted into another currency.
