How to compare betting sites in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan made online bookmaking legal in January 2025. Yet the country's first betting licences were not issued until 31 July 2026. That 19-month gap explains why so many international rankings still describe a market that no longer exists.
The National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP) now lists four licence entries. They belong to just two companies operating two registered domains. Each holds separate permissions for bookmaking and internet-based games.
Four licences do not mean four independent sportsbooks, much less the dozens sometimes advertised to Uzbek players.
The domain matters more than the logo
Uzbekistan's 2024 presidential decree established a licensed market; Cabinet Resolution No. 814 supplied the operating rules.
NAPP is the authority to consult, not a foreign regulator whose seal appears in a website footer.
Its register connects each permission to a legal entity, a tax identification number and a specific domain. A similar-looking address or an offshore mirror does not inherit that authorisation.
Before assessing odds or welcome offers, check the exact website against the NAPP register.
Licensed operators must also identify customers through a state system that records players and bets. The minimum age is 18.
Both residents and non-residents may participate if they meet the applicable requirements, although eligibility does not guarantee that every overseas visitor can complete registration.
Paying in som is not proof of a licence
Uzbekistan's currency is the som (UZS), while Uzcard and HUMO are established domestic card systems.
A site displaying UZS balances or mentioning local cards can still be unlicensed.
The rules connect registration and funding to verified identities and electronic records. Before depositing, check whether the withdrawal method is supported, whose name must appear on the payment account and what documents will be requested.
KYC (Know Your Customer identity verification) is part of the regulated process, not evidence that every website requesting documents is trustworthy.
There is also a tax detail worth knowing.
From 1 July 2026, winnings from NAPP-licensed betting are exempt from Uzbek personal income tax under a three-year experimental regime.
Operators instead pay a 4% tax on relevant revenue after winnings and refunded stakes are deducted.
That treatment should not automatically be applied to unlicensed offshore betting sites.
Local football is worth checking
Uzbekistan reached the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 2026 after qualifying in June 2025.
Domestic football has its own stories. Fergana's Neftchi won the 2025 Super League, finishing ahead of Pakhtakor and Nasaf.
For local supporters, coverage of the Uzbekistan Super League, AFC competitions and national team fixtures can be more useful than a huge catalogue of unfamiliar tournaments.
The rules also prohibit betting on certain categories of sporting events, including children's and youth competitions.
Good sports betting sites in Uzbekistan should explain how postponed fixtures, abandoned matches and disciplinary decisions affect settlement.
A generous bonus cannot compensate for unclear rules governing the matches you actually follow.
Questions about betting sites in Uzbekistan
Are international bookmakers automatically legal in Uzbekistan?
No. The operator and exact domain need Uzbek authorisation. A foreign licence or a working UZS payment option is insufficient.
Can players exclude themselves from betting?
Yes. The national framework provides for self-exclusion requests lasting from six months to five years, with additional court-ordered restrictions in defined circumstances.
How many licensed Uzbekistan sportsbooks are there?
NAPP's public register showed two legal entities and two approved domains in October 2026. The register should be checked again before choosing a platform, as new licences may be issued.
